CHEM-WELD 9310 BLACKING - Solution
WARNING: Sold for professional use only - sales on a registered number. The product is dangerous. Read the MSDS carefully.
For permanent blackening of cast iron and steel, containing not more than 12% nickel and chromium.
Wide range of applications. Suitable for blackening hollow parts such as gun barrels, blackening small parts, screws, machine parts, car parts, decorative objects.
Instructions. At lower temperatures, uneven colouring or low colour saturation occurs. The blackening solution should be at a temperature of 15-20°C. Also allow the parts to be blackened to reach room temperature. The surface of the material must first be free of rust, thoroughly degreased and cleaned. For degreasing we recommend CHEM-WELD 1802 spray, which evaporates without residue. Yield: 1 litre / 4-5m2.
Pour off the required amount of ink (concentrate). Dilute as required with water in a ratio of 1:3 ( 1 part ink and 3 parts water). The material is immersed in the solution for about 1 minute, so that it is completely submerged. It is advisable to stir or shake the blackening bath with the parts to release any air bubbles attached to the metal parts. After blackening, the items are rinsed in water, dried and treated with oil. The used bath should be disposed of as hazardous waste. Never pour the residue of the blackening bath back to the blackener, it already contains metal ions and would deactivate the entire solution.
