Product detailed description

CHEM-WELD 3835

Tubular electrode with high hardness, suitable for medium impact

Top quality high alloy tubular electrode for welding in all positions. Suitable wherever extreme abrasion occurs. For welding low carbon steels, grey cast iron and manganese steels without backing layer and without preheating. Suitable for brickworks, quarries, sand plants, cement plants, agriculture, surface and mining machinery, oil mills, crushing equipment, welding on earthmoving and agricultural machinery.Wear-resistant soil, sand, stone..

The electrode produces a highly abrasive wear resistant electrode suitable for moderate impact. It is composed mainly of chromium carbide in an austenitic-eutectic matrix. Carbide content of at least 40 %. Moisture resistant.

Easy to use electrode with a high feed rate of up to 4 kg/h. Welding at very low currents. The use of higher welding current than necessary leads to higher burning and dilution of the weld with the base metal, thus to lower hardness and poorer abrasion resistance. Low slag formation allows multilayer welding without the need to remove slag between welds. In certain cases, surface cracking of the weld bead may occur, which is not a defect, in practice this will help to increase wear resistance. Arc length from 2 to 5 mm electrode. Keep the electrode perpendicular to the surface. Coatings max. 2 to 3 layers with a total height of max. 10 mm

Excellent hardness already in the 1st layer of the weld

For conventional welds, several layers of welds must be made before the final hardness is reached, because in each layer of the weld there is mixing with the base metal or with the previous layer. This increases the consumption of electrodes and the cost of the final coating. The tube electrodes are welded at very low currents and thus no mixing of metals occurs.

1st layer 50-60 HRC - 2nd layer 59-62 HRC

Low welding currents in tubular electrode welding

O 12 mm 210-250 A (current load as a conventional O 5.0 mm electrode)

O 8 mm 120-180 A (current load as conventional electrode O 3.2 mm)

O 6 mm 80-120 A (current load as conventional electrode O 2.5 mm)

High yield 195%

A yield of 195% means that you can weld 0.95 kg of flux from 1 kg of tubular electrodes.
For conventional welding electrodes, the yield is around 150%.
1 CHEM-WELD 3835 electrode will weld 80 to 100 cm of carbide

Název CHEM-WELD znamená spojení chemie a svařování.

Prvním výrobkem bylo speciální lepidlo na kov Chem-Stahl 1000 HT,  které nahrazovalo svařování v dolech JAR.
